Custom Cufflinks

Metal Memories Co. manufactures custom cufflinks in copper and aluminum alloy at our own factory. Since 1984, we have supplied gift distributors, corporate buyers, and uniform programs with cufflinks finished in cloisonné, soft enamel, or plain metal relief — every pair produced to your artwork.

Materials & Options

Custom cufflinks are produced in two base metals:

  • Copper — the standard choice for cloisonné, soft cloisonné, and soft enamel work. Copper strikes cleanly, holds fine line detail, and carries the solid weight buyers expect in a dress accessory.
  • Aluminum alloy — a lighter option for larger faces and for designs that rely on stamped relief rather than color. It keeps bulk orders easier to handle and ship.

Color is applied through four routes: cloisonné, soft cloisonné, soft enamel, and without coloring, where the all-metal relief carries the entire design. All four routes work in either metal, so the same logo can be compared in several finishes before you commit. Tell us the look and weight you want, and we will recommend the combination that fits your program and budget.

Manufacturing Processes

Every cufflink order starts with your artwork. Our engineers convert it into a production die, cut in-house and used to strike each face from copper or aluminum alloy sheet. Struck blanks are trimmed to shape and polished before any color is applied.

The coloring stage defines the finished look. Cloisonné sets each color inside cells formed by the raised metal outline. Soft cloisonné produces a smoother, flatter color field with the same raised-line definition. Soft enamel fills color slightly below the metal lines, leaving a textured, dimensional surface. Designs specified "without coloring" skip this stage entirely — the raised and recessed relief carries the design, polished to a clean all-metal finish.

Finished faces are polished again, inspected against the approved sample, and assembled with the back fittings before packing. Samples are approved before mass production begins.

Popular Styles

These five styles cover most corporate and institutional orders:

  • Crown top designs — a classic silhouette for formal wear, popular with clubs and societies that follow traditional dress codes.
  • Military designs — unit and regimental crests produced for military, police, and fire service buyers, struck for sharp insignia detail.
  • Custom designs — any logo, anniversary mark, or mascot converted to a cufflink face, including wedding parties ordering matching sets.
  • Transparent coloring designs — translucent color laid over the metal so the base tone shows through, giving added depth.
  • Plain metal designs — all-metal relief with no color, a restrained option for executive corporate gifts.

Cufflinks also serve as uniform accessories where dress regulations call for standardized insignia on formal shirts.

FAQ

What is the minimum order quantity for custom cufflinks?

Our minimum order for custom cufflinks is [MOQ], confirmed per design when you request a quote. If you plan the same logo in several finishes, ask us to quote each finish so you can compare before committing.

How long do sampling and production take?

Sampling and production schedules are confirmed with your quotation; standard lead time is [LEAD TIME] from sample approval. Share your event date when you inquire and we will confirm the timeline within 24 hours.

Can you work from our existing artwork or a physical sample?

Yes. Vector artwork is ideal, but our design team can redraw sketches, photos, or printed logos into production-ready files as part of the free design service. Physical samples are also welcome.

Which finish should we choose: cloisonné or soft enamel?

Cloisonné holds color inside raised metal cells for a crisp, jewelry-like surface. Soft enamel sits below the metal lines, giving a dimensional look that reads clearly at small sizes. For plain all-metal relief, specify "without coloring."
